Carrs weld components for battery cell projects, for all-electric vehicles and energy recovery systems.

Using lasers to weld copper and aluminium, Carrs weld interconnections to lithium ion cells with only a small increase in temperature. Keeping the cell under 85 degrees C is crucial if the battery is to maintain its working life and performance.

Carrs were so impressed with the technology that they have bought their own electric vehicle - a Mitsubishi IMiev.

Carrs use the new IMiev to deliver to customers and collect materials, as it is ideal for light loads and very economical to run!
