Production - Medical Industry

Carr’s have been welding medical tooling for many years, where the slightest worn edge on a mould would produce a life threatening flash on a component.  The added benefit of keeping the tool original is that there is no need to seek approval for the part again after repair.  A new insert would need a re-qualification of the product and delay production by many weeks.  Carr’s also weld surgeons tool and knifing assemblies for medical applications.  Laser welding is used to fabricate small medical assemblies as picture here or as a means of filling the “bug-traps” on larger assemblies so contamination cannot leak out of crevices.
